Encore Artists is for those of us who want to return to prioritizing our creative lives—learning, making, and engaging more deeply with our art.
This weekend retreat is a joyful and powerful reset: part studio practice, part planning and reflection.
By the end of the workshop, you will have created an individualized compass for your creative life.
From Friday evening through Sunday, we’ll participate in hands-on exercises and activities designed to awaken your curiosity and desire to make art.
We’ll work with sketchbooks, drawing, watercolor, acrylic paints, sculpture, and more.
You’ll make art, yes—but you will also begin crafting a compass to help you find time for your art and explore the materials and

What’s Included
Focused Instruction + Personal Support
A weekend immersive workshop designed to help you reconnect with your creative life.
You’ll receive clear guidance, demonstrations, and individualized feedback to support your process and growth.
Studio-Based Creative Exploration
Through sketchbooks, painting, drawing, and sculpture, you’ll explore a range of materials and approaches—giving you space to discover what inspires you and how you want to work.
Space to Work at Your Own Pace
The weekend is structured but flexible, allowing you to follow guided prompts or move more independently as your ideas take shape.
Coffee and pastries are provided on Saturday and Sunday morning.
Meals + Local Exploration
All other meals are on your own. We are located downtown in historic Petaluma, within walking distance of many dining options.
A list of recommended restaurants and grocery stores will be provided, and you’re encouraged to meet and mingle with others.
Accommodation Flexibility
Lodging is not included. Excellent and reasonable options are available within walking distance of Artaluma, including the Petaluma Hotel.
